Maison Alphonse-Desjardins

You are here

Maison Alphonse-Desjardins is a testament to the beginnings of Desjardins Group and the cooperative movement in Canada. The building has been classified an historic monument, and features décor dating back to the early 1900s. Take a tour to learn more about the history of Dorimène and Alphonse Desjardins and how the first savings and credit cooperative in North America was founded—you'll understand why these two Canadian visionaries were designated national historic persons. If you're in Old Lévis, be sure to stop by Édifice Desjardins, located a block away from Maison Alphonse-Desjardins. Take a look at the permanent exhibit, POP-SAC-A-VIE, which tells the story of Desjardins Group from the 1930s to the year 2000, and the Innovating Through Cooperation temporary exhibit, which showcases recent innovations that help Desjardins fulfill our educational mission as a cooperative financial group.
